My name is Silvia and I am a graphic design major.

I am a 29 year old proud Peruvian woman who wants to spread my creativity to the world. I came to the United States when I was 3 years old with my first language being Spanish. My favorite things in life is illustrating (though I get artist blocks majority of the time.), playing video games, my black cat, Kuro and I love having an amazing burger.

Before I took this class, I spent some time thinking if I should start a short story. I thought about making a short story about my life that includes some of the boy drama that I went through. Think about “sex and the city” but with some unfitting elements such as aliens and witches. I always liked the mix of a strange world connected to the human modern world.

I love to draw random characters that most describe as the “cuphead” style. I did borrow this style because I love the way they are drawn. I use a lot of round shapes because I am in love with how it feels to draw bubbles and slime. I don’t think these characters have some connection towards me personally. But maybe they do in someway I cannot see at the moment. Right now they are just characters I create. These characters sometimes wear masks to cover their true selves. But what are their true selves? Some of them are probably businessmen who work in a small cubicle. I have always been inspired by the subject wearing a mask. You can also see extra eyes being drawn in some of my art. One of my other obsessions is drawing eyes. Curves and roundness also intrigues me. I make these drawings into stickers, buttons or even prints. Someday I hope to make it big and get hired to create someone’s album cover or even posters.
